editing timebase issues

i have an editing timebase of 60 in one of my timelines since i shoot in 60i on my dvx. (cmakes sense to me unless thats wrong.) and when i try to add effects on the footage in that timeline, it doesnt apply or show. when i move it to my other timeline that has an editing timebase of 29.97, it will apply and show the effects perfectly. does anyone know whats going on? when i was importing, i had the device control set as firewire ntsc ndf and the capture/input was set to dv ntsc 48khz.

does anyone know why i cant apply effects in my timeline with an editing baseline of 60?

60i and 29.97 are the same thing...

still doesnt change the fact that i cant add/see any effects i add to any footage. thanks for not helping.

He did help. Your footage is 30fps, not 60 fps. So in the sequence that you have that is 30fps, it DID work.. "when i move it to my other timeline that has an editing timebase of 29.97, it will apply and show the effects perfectly."

So...use the proper sequence setting. It isn't working because your footage isn't 60fps.

Why not put this together in quicktime pro then import to your project...
