Hey, I wa sjust wondeering those of you that edit a feature, when you are working through the film do you just have absolutely everything in one project? like the entire movie on one timeline? How do you go about piecing it together?

Also, how do you add a Drop Frame Time Code? (As ive heard that distributors require this stuff.. lol)

cheers. Dave.

Hi there,

You've got to create your own editing strategy, but on something like a full feature movie, edited in Premiere, I would break up the scenes unto different sequences. and use nested sequences.

that way it is easier to manage your project, send certain scenes to eg. After Effects, spesific color work, etc...

in Premiere CS3 you would GO TO the Window menu, then Window Options, then Timeline Window Options. on the options dialog you can select between Non-Drop Frame Timecode or Drop Frame, change it to what you want and click OK.

Also in your project settings, under Display Format, change the viewing of the timecode to the desired option. (this only changes how the timecode is displayed, if you got semi-colons it's drop frame, if you have colons it's non-drop)
