Editing photoshop layers in Vegas

Hey
I have recently started doing more graphics at work and I have been importing PSD's into FCP and it lets me edit each layer so I can keyframe different layers to do what I want.
I use Vegas at home and I am wondering if it can handle PSD's the same way.
I know of a workaround, as in save each layer as a PSD and bring in each layer to vegas, but... is there an easier way.

Searched the forum and the help manual. Thanks
Brian

This is one of the very few weaknesses of Vegas. I'm not sure why they've not allowed this function but if Vegas allowed it, it could very well give most basic AE needs a run for their money (pretty much does anyhow)

best workaround is to run a script and export each layer as a separate file. You can save each independently but the script makes it a bit faster. I do this quite frequently and have almost bypassed the need to have the .psd open directly on the timeline. Would be a great feature though.
