Editing on a your plasma HD TV???

Question for you guys...

Have you guys tried using the s-video out on your mac to edit on your plasma HD flat panel TV monitor???

I'm also using a Sony HD Z1U cam so it's HD as well... and using FCP 5.

Your going to need a special cable similiar to the DVI cable. I think its called HDMI or something like that. My plasma is not HDTV but its (EDTV) but I could use it as a computer monitor if I wanted with the correct cable.

In the manual to my TV it says it can support up to 1080i lines of resolution which is HD however the TV is not HD! Go figure!

DVX100 - the HDMI cable will do no good unless the monitor has an HDMI connector and even then, what do you connect the other end to?

Save - I'm not real familiar with FCP but I believe you are going to need one of two things to view your footage in HD while editing.
1 - A card like the AJA Kona 2 card with HD component outputs
2 - (and I'm not sure bout this one) I know with Premiere and SD footage you can hook up your camera firewire to the computer and use the video outputs to a monitor. Works with the DVX and SD stuff. Not sure bout HD through the ZiU.

It's taking the HD signal and down-converting it to SD.
