Editing Jump Cuts (help)

So I got a project from a local radio show. They filmed the show, but only with one camera. There is about an hour worth of footage I have to condense into 20 minutes and 30 seconds.

Since it was filmed with only one camera and the host of the show in constantly interviewing people, it is very hard to cut up all the excess footage without having jump cuts.

What is a creative way to make it easier on people to accept a jump cut? Flashing to white? Quick zoom in then zoom out?

I would say try to use some sort of transition that's not too gaudy. Can you get photos from these guys to use as b-roll to allow you to cut?

Or soft dissolves. Watch some reality TV shows- they use all kinds of little animation tricks to get around lack of coverage.

Malcolm in the Middle.

They pretty much never had to deal with making a scene or sequence flow into the next one. They just quick cut to a moving graphic with a swoosh noise that felt like we just teleported to the next scene.

Don't most interviews just flash a logo of their show name in some fancy fashion to facilitate the cut. This is where all the useless sounds that come with Soundtrack pro come in handy, for brief transition wooshes and whips.
