Editing Jobs in Japan

Im moving there soon and i see a few members here live there already.
I was wondering how the industry is out there?
I hear they get a lot of thier editing done here in the U.S?
I dont speak much japanese yet so would that kill my chances?
Just looking for some info.

Japan is awesome. i've visited but never lived there. But having lived in another asian city all I can say is learn the language fast. Start now. It'll make all your film making easier.

i concur. But tv broadcast and video production is like the highest in any other country i know. i been there done that so you'll like it just learnt he language im semi fluent. 4 years of the language.
