Editing interlaced and progression scan

Hello, I have been shooting a doc 50i. I am interested in shooting with a EX1, 1080P. Will this cause a problem in the edit?
 
Not a problem per se, but the motion will look different if you mix 50i with 25p. The EX1 can shoot either 50i or 25p, why not keep shooting 50i?
