Editing informatic equipment for P2?

Hi everybody,
We are going to buy the HPX 500 and we suppose that we need also to invest in editing equipment.
We use windows and we will take the CS3.
Which kind of informatic equipment we need to move properly and fast the 100 Mbs of the MXF? What do you use to monitoring in a TV?
Thank you very much
Best

CS3 natively supports the cards, so you don't need any additional software.

You don't technically *need* any additional hardware either; the camera can be used as a card reader. It's kind of silly to tie the camera up as a card reader though, so you may want to spring for an external card reader. If you're a Mac user, look at the PCD20; if you're a windows user you can get a $150 PCI->PCMCIA slot adapter for your desktop computer.

Thanks Barry,
I am windows user. My question was more in the way of specific computer caracteristics in order to move that amount of data. We are going to shot a documentary of 55 minutes, so I image that we will need a strong computer.
Is it necessary specials processors, raid HDD, video card, motherboard,...
What will be your advise to edit without problems?
And another question. OK I dont need any extra card, like matrox or something like that to edit, but How do you monitoring in a TV or monitor the project? What card do you use?
Thanks a lot.

No, you don't need hefty computer horsepower at all. A cheap laptop will do fine for an offload station, and off-the-shelf external hard disks are all you need.

For realtime editing performance a dual-core Core 2 Duo processor would be advisable, but the overall horsepower need is much lower for DVCPRO-HD than it would be for HDV, so you don't need a tremendously powerful system. Any decent modern computer should be able to handle it.

Thanks Barry, that sounds very nice and cheap.
And what about monitoring, we thought about blackmagic? Decklink HD Pro looks a nice solution to monitoring and to export to HD tapes
