Editing in Russia

So I'm planning on moving from the USA to Russia next year to teach English, and while I'm there I want to shoot and edit some short scripts I've written. I edit on Premiere Pro 2.0 (PC) and am wondering if I would be able to take my computer with me or should I save money and buy a computer and camera when I get there? I know nothing about equipment working in other countries :( Any help would be appreciated.

your computer will be able to work in russia no problem just switch the volatage on teh back of your power supply to 220 (thats what russia uses not 120) or if your computer doesnt have it then you can just buy a power supply there. your monitor and television might need a transformer to operate there but you computer just needs an adapter. Your television wont work there because i believe they use Secam as apposed to NTSC but you might still want to bring it along with any other NTSC equipment you own incase someone in russia (like an american living in russia) Wants a video in NTSC for playback in there system. You will have to buy a Secam television or pro CRT there to edit with however when you are doing local projects. Good luck

Bringing your laptop will do :) It is advise you backup your stuff before you go there. Ensure you laptop is in tip-top condition before you bring it there. Check for virus etc. It is good you test first to see if it is working well in your country first. Always prepare for unexpected situation. Good luck! :)
