I want to future proof my work, however I just don't have the power or hdd space to edit in 1080 HDTV (1920x1080), do you reckon 720 (1280x720) is just as good, or will this be replaced by 1080 as its the better one anyway (higher res)
Not sure about future proofing, but a lot of stations broadcast 720p right now, including ESPN HD. Discovery Channel is 1080i, so the channels themselves differ. 720P looks pretty darn good, it just depends on what you need I guess. If you can only do 720P, do that then, because it's much better than standard def. You can convert 720 to 1080, but it will become interlaced and uprezzed (though it doesn't always look as awful as you might think). Hope that helps at least a little bit.
