Editing from DVX100b normal capture

I filmed with my dvx100b in 24pA in the normal mode in 16:9.

Now I am trying to edit the footage as a 16:9 project and captured just like Noah said in his dvd I bought.

But the footage is still in 4:3. How do I get the footage to be in 16:9?

When you say "normal mode" 16x9, do you mean letterbox? If so, then the captured file will be 4x3 with upper and lower black bars surrounding the 16x9 image in the middle. Now, if you shot squeezed and captured in DV Anamorphic, then you'll have perfect 16x9 with no black bars.

No in the dvx100b there are three modes: normal, letterbox and squeeze. I shot in normal.

I think I may have figured it out actually so thanks for the help.

You can use the 'widescreen' plugin in the matte section of video filters to crop the image to 16:9, but I would stick to a 4:3 timeline unless you must have a 16:9 for other material.
You can crop and resize when you encode for a dvd in compressor.
