Any opinions on what would be the most dumbed-down, hand holding bok or series for those of us who know absolutely nothing about editing of any sort but are working with FCP 5? Thanks!

FCP 5 for dummies (if it's out yet). I used FCP 4 for dummies and it taught me everything I know.

It's a bit spendy, but to me it was worth every penny. If you are looking for a "hand holding" guide to FCP go here:

FCP 5 is not much different then 4.5, especially when it comes to the basics. I promise it was the best guide I have found so far, and I have read several other books on FCP. Like I said $100 might by more then you would pay for a book. But you get 10 and a half hours of DVD step by step training. It was great. Plus, they index the training so anytime you can go back and refernce one tool or part if you forget. I still use it a bunch for refernce with the FCP manual.
