Editing a Self Contained File?

I have already deleted the project file since the project was completed. Now that it is 2005 I need to take off the opening title sequence that says 2003 on it. Is there a way to do this? I have brought SCF's back on the timeline before. I think I might be able to use the Razor tool and cut that section off right or no?

Old fashioned (but may be relevant) : why not framing the 2005 title, hiding the old nasty 2003 behind a solid rectangle — or any other solid shape — containing the shining brand new 2005 ?

You can also re-write the title at a larger scale (or with a thicker font) so that you can hide the embarrassing old one. If the title is not animated and stays at a stationary position, it should not be a big deal.

Is your film a comedy ? Then you can do it bad, very amateur-like, erasing the 3, ripping the image, trying to put it back into its primary position, dropping ink and coffee on it, ****ing everything up, ending with a total wreck and writing 2005 with a shamingly cheap font... and then praying for the audience to smile at such a phony trick.

But if 2003 is mentioned in the dialogs, unless you have the separate tracks of your soundtrack still available, you'll need to re-record, re-music, re-foley, re-sound design and re-mix the portion, meaning you're in a serious ****... If this is the case, I wish you courage.

Sorry. I just realized I had misread your question.  :-[

If your concern is just to delete the section, then its very very simple. Yes, use the razor tool, make a clip out of the unusable section, select it and type the combination shift-X. The section will be deleted and the following one joined to the beginning of the film.

In order to soften the audio transition, you may have to cross fade the newly adjacent zones.

thanks yea i pretty much figured it out and yes my titles were animated. Technically I don't have to take the 2003 off but I want to make it seem like everything is current! Its a project that I started in 2003 and finished in 2004. A series of short music videos that I plan to put on DVD and sell.
