Editing a Feature (Etiquette?)

How (for those of you who have edited long projects in FCP) do you normally edit something long in FCP? What I mean is do you edit the entire movie in one sequence or edit in different sequences then drop them into another sequence to complete the film? Just curious because it sounds complicated to have something over an hour long on one timeline.

What do you guys normally do? Anything you do to keep things organized?

Naming things properly, and putting them in bins where they need to go, and even labeling (assigning colors) helps me stay organized. Also, I will typically cut scene(s) about about 3-8 minutes long in their own sequence, and nest them into a Master sequence. I will work on them like this until most are cut, and then I will bring them all into then Master sequence expanded(as opposed to nested). Oh and it helps to place sequence markers at each chapter for quick navigation.

Oh and beer helps too on those long nights cutting away... can't say what it does for organization, but i find it to be just as vital :)
