Soon I'll be making a short film, and to make sure everything will be fine I've shot a demo clip using LOMO anamorphic lens (2X squeeze) and a Canon DSLR camera (7D) at 24 fps. Then I imported original files to AE and un-squeezed them to normal resolution, which is 3840x1080 pixels. Then I created a new comp 2048x858 (I want 2.40 aspect ratio for this project), and imported 3840x1080 comp in it and downscaled to new comp size, (I used AE's Transform>Fit comp to height) so in theory now it is 2K.
This is how it lookslike downscaled from 2K to Full HD
I'm using AVID MC 5 to edit my video files, but now how do I do it with 2K resolution 2048x858 (scope 2.40)? I want to edit in 2K because when it done I want to export one copy as a TIFF sequence for a DCP, one copy will be downscaled to Full HD scope (1920x800, 2.40), which later will be downscaled to DVD-PAL (720x480, 16:9) for festival submissions and DVDs creations).
If somebody knows abetter way of editing so please reply.
