Editing 24p in Final Cut Pro 3

Hi there. I know I'm a little bit outdated regarding software but as you know is a little bit expensive to keep up with the latest versions. I have a DVX100a and I usually shoot in 24p. To do the editing I use Final Cut Pro 3. When I capture the footage from the camera into the computer the software doesn't recognize it as 24 frames per second but as normal video (30 frames per second). I have no problem editing at that rate but I'm affraid that I'm going to have some kind of trouble printing the finished film back into 24p to be later transfer to Sony HDCam. My question is this: is there a way for me to change the frame rate on Final Cut Pro 3 to be able to edit in 24 frames per second. Thanks for ur answers.

If you're going out to 29.97 output (on HDCAM) then just do what you're doing.
If you need a true 24 final (for filmout) then you need to reverse tlecine.
This can be done with Cinema Tools (I don't thin kthat came with FCP 3?) or something like After Effects or other effects package after you've captured your files.
Create a 23.98 sequence to edit them in after converting them.
