I am looking at doing some minor upgrades to my system, so that my editing workflow is a little better, I also need to redo my desk/work area, I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what the best thing to focus on first is (since my budget is kind of low)
Here is my current system....
P4 3.2 ghz 800fsb
1 gig pc3200 ram
ATI Radeon 7200
8x DVD +/- r/rw burner (no name brand)
15'' LCD monitor
firewire card
1x 80 gig system drive (7200 rpm)
2x 120 gig SATA storage drives (one for edit footage, one for rendered files)
24x CD Burner
Crappy case
Here is what I want in a new system:
Accurate, good quality Audio monitoring
Accurate, color correction worthy full screen preview
over 300 gigs of storage
firewire 800
Efficient, capable, Nonlinear workflow (Adobe suite)
Fast, reliable renders
Heat management
comfortable edit environment (desk, chair etc etc...)
Alot of this stuff I kind of know what I want, I am just wondering if there is anyone here that has gone through this process and can tell me the best way/place to buy some of this stuff, and where my priority's should lay. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
