Edit on card + backgroundcopy

Hello, I`ve got a question, so maybe someone can help me - I would like to edit on p2 card and copy the card to hd in the background. After replacing the card I would like to relink the project to the hd-files, but not every single clip. Is this possible with Edius 4.2?
 
EDIUS does this automatically. Do a copy and import of the clips from the card you want. Begin editing. The transfer will happen in the background. When finished transferring everything will be automatically relinked to the HDD location for the clips.

One recommendation that I have is that you turn off the option in P2 Select to temporarily suspend the copy process when Edius is playing the file being copied -- it was added in one of the V4.2x releases, I'm not sure which one at the moment. The idea is that this would give you the best real-time performance during playback in Edius, but it can also prevent a timely offloading of the P2 card.

The option is a simple checkbox in the P2 Select menu, you'll see it when you right-click on the icon in the System Tray.
 
Thank you for your answers. I`m still Version on 4.01 - when I select copy and import - the copy begins, but there is nothing in the bin. So do I have to uograde to 4.5?
 
No. You can go to the legacy downloads at canopus.com and download 4.24 if you want. I believe the background transfer came in at version 4.12 or 4.13??? I'm not sure. I'm just guessing on that. But, 4.01 doesn't have it. You'll just need to update to a newer version. 4.24 was a decent build.... considering andit's still the old look and there won't be any surprises like there may be if you jump to 4.5x
