edit mpg2 program stream in FCP2

I need to edit mpg2 program stream files in Final Cut. but if I do it only video appears in timeline.
What to do?

Not supported in FCP. You'd need to convert in another program to DV or PRoRes first then you can edit in FCP.

situation here.
I'm in Beijing in August. I'm covering the olympics for some athlete's. I have to send stuff via internet to an editor who's going to edit it. What is the best way to compress then and later edible in FCP6.

H.264 in very small file sizes. Then they send you back their FCP project, you relink to the originals and export a final as NTSC or HD resolution H.264 and FTP that. Media Manager can automate all of this for you. Failing that, FedEx baby.
