Edit 4k in a 2k , sequence aspect ratio issue

Hello, I have red footage in 2.35 at 4 k. I want to edit in 2k since I am using other footage in HD. When I open a 2k sequence I adjust to fit the image in the screen using motion, when I get the withd right I still have a small black bar in the top and bottom of the image. In a 4 K sequence I dont have that problem.


Is there a way to avoid this and get the exact screen size?
 
What are the exact dimensions of your 4K footage and what is the exact dimensions of the 2K sequence you chose? It sounds like an aspect ratio issue.
 
Should be pretty easy:

  1. Divide the width of the input footage by 2
  2. Divide the height of the input footage by 2
  3. Create a sequence exactly that size
  4. In "Edit -> Preferences -> General", make sure "Default scale to frame size" is set
Now just drop your footage in, it should scale to 50% and fit perfectly.
