This forum might be about camera gears and video stuff but I can't help but share this here since I've been part of this forum for a while and while we used to see Ebola only in the news happening far away, the sad reality is it is now here, and for me this hits really close to home.
With my wife working as a nurse at the Dallas Presbyterian I can't help but share her concerns and anxiety, especially now that one of them got infected while caring for patient zero, these people are on the front lines of this battle against this disease and I think they are heroes for what they do.
To those of you here who have faith, do include them in your thoughts and prayers as they go about their job of caring for the sick.

This is bad news and it must really be stressful for the staff at Dallas Presbyterian. This is going to make taking care of Ebola patients almost impossible. I work in a teaching and research hospital and I know how well trained and careful clinical staff are especially when dealing with infectious diseases. Nothing compares with this Ebola situation.

Another question is going to be, how is the media going to cover this outbreak in Africa? The risks of just being in Liberia are enormous--you're surrounded by potentially infectious everything. This isn't like HIV or malaria or other infectious diseases.

Really bad news...

Really crazy for hospital staff. Especially after reading a healthcare worker was infected despite mask/suit etc. Truly shows how badass these folks are putting themselves in danger to help strangers.

I was only a matter of time before an infection occurred in the USA. Although the persons on the front lines of fighting this deserve our admiration and support, I am really disappointed in how our government has responded or should I say failed to adequately respond. Common sense and science should have dictated quarantining travel outside ground zero in Africa. Too late for that now. Due to the lengthy incubation period, many could slip thru the precautions now being taken at airports because they would not show any symptoms.
