Easy Rig Mini Strong

Hi, I have a shoot coming up. We are shooting on a stripped down red package with canon lenses. I did the calculations and the camera should weigh about 11.5LBS with everything on it.

Easy Rig says the mini strong can hold up to 13LBS. Yet everywhere I have seen thoughts posted on this people say that a Red should be used with one of the larger rigs.

Can anyone comment on this. Should a stripped down red be fine on the mini strong....what might be the disadvantages?
 
Depends what you mean by stripped down. Redvolts or V mounts.....if no redvolts no need for side handle. But then again the side handle works well with Easyrig. 5inch touch or EVF etc etc. Sure you can do away with MB and FF, rods, etc. but power supply and monitoring will drive you weight up pending choice.....and then also remember the glass your flying of the camera.

Most use Easy rig with the 600n strut so it sounds like a bit of a push for a mini strong....even with a stripped down red.

P.S I assume your talking about DSMC Dragon/Epic/Scarlet...if your talking REDONE forget it.
