Easom Cage :)

Ok! I think things just got better. I have been trying to make this cage and adapter project my own little venture. Trying to keep the cost down and play around with it some. Shaving off expense by water jetting and such. I was under the impression that film makers (like I have become after spending much time here.) wanted fast and cheap. I'm finding the opposite. Precision and quality outweigh the other aspects. So. I've put the project into our regular line with all the precision stuff. Properly machined and quality checked.

The parts are fully machined to 1/2 a millionth of an inch tolerance. Give or take. lol. Leaving room for the Anodizing of course. All of the threads are inserted Stainless steel for a lifetime of use. The new spacers have side rail mounts that can be used for mounting accessories or even the Amazing Micro MatteBox from Redrock with our spacer adapter.

The Easom Adapter is being Re-Vamped as well with full machined back focus adjustment and a mini adapter also for the Vixia family.

The only expense to making the parts this way is, well the expense. The new line of spacers is approx 1 inch taller than our 1st sets to accomodate the full camera inside the cage. Even HVX or PMW. The bottom line is $495 USD per set. 2 large rail spacers with all hardware for top, bottom, and side rails. The dual handle mount (2 triangles) all clamps and knobs. The set does not include any Rods. I'll be posting to Ebay today with full specs. Thanks to all who made these possible, Including dvxuser.com. Cory

Pretty cool, from the looks of it I'm guessing that beside the baseplate rods you'll need 2 more rods on top for the handle and you're good to go?

Just have a couple of more questions for you Cory:

1. Will you be offering your single mounted handle?
2. Will the cage only be sold through Ebay, or are you working on a website?
3. Will you be shipping internationally, like, let's say...to Norway? :)

- Cheers!

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

1) The handle is a double mounted handle. A tension screw on each end of the handle can be loosened to release either side. Each triangle mount has an aluminum tube that simply slides out of the handle. I will sell the handle minus 1 mount. Take $50 USD off the price. The single mount setup is plenty strong. I'm including a graphic in case anyone missed the single mount handle (the old hardware version). We are also working on just a plain handle for use with any rod support setup (It will not hold a laptop, it's just a handle) for aroun $150 USD. It will run from the regular lower set of rods and extend up and around the camera. I'm also including a graphic of the face view of the plain handle design.

2) I'm new to selling to the consumer market and we do have a website in production. Just a non working splash page at the moment. It is and will alwys be www.easom.com and will be up with a cart and demo videos and such soon.

3) Norway, Absolutely! The 1st 4 cage setups shipped to India, Netherlands, Australia, and New York. So it looks to be more of a global market. Hey! And I don't care what those girls in Norway say about me! I'm really a great guy!

I hope for your sake we don't see a cinecity dvcity knockoff in two months; I know you have put a ton of work into this.

Yes! I was a little timid to send 1 off to India. If it does come down to it, I may take my little band of bandits out for a trip to visit their warehouse...
