Easiest question(s) ever!

With FCP 7, AVCHD files are auto converted to ProRes 422 upon log and transfer, right?

And ProRes 422 means the color sampling is 422?

I heard that the af100 (for example) records 420 color sampling. So how exactly is it converted to 422 (assuming my second question is answered "yes")?

I've always assumed the first two questions were "Yes," but I started thinking about the third and I figured I should ask the first two again to be sure... Thanks!
 
ProRes is 10 bit 422, but your original material is not. There's more room for information than you have. It's like you wrote a short story, but it's being published in a volume the size of a phone book. Most of the pages are blank, but he book has a lot of room in it.
 
If you have trouble with FCP L&T then use MPEG Streamclip. In the past I've had to use the aforementioned and iMovie to get the blasted footage off the camera.

Log and Transfer works perfectly for me... I just started this thread because I was curious, lol. Thanks for the reply though!
