I work for apple and from my knowledge only FCP 4 will support 24p. If your holding out on OS X i dont see why you should unless your waiting for some other OS to come out. Hmm. I dont know when that will be. But if you've been waiting this long, just be patient.

Before FCP had native 24P support there was film logic, which was simple software addon and a dongle to make it work. It was not cheap at the time, but I was renting out a system for a feature about three years ago. That was with FCP2, now I am not sure if that would work with the DVx's footage or not, but it is something to look into.
