Using this lens with the URSA 12K. I like it, but the edges are a little soft wide open. It’s not a deal breaker. Just wondering if anyone else with this lens has the same experience. Test video link:

While it is an interesting and economical lens, I don't think it up to resolving task of the camera. Seems like a waste of data.
 
I think it depends on what you are delivering. If it’s a feature film that’s going to be projected on a large screen, I think that I would need to rent an expensive lens. If it’s just for the web or a commercial that is going to air 1080i or 720p, I think this lens is more than enough. What lenses are you using?
 
There looks to be a fair amount of softness at the edges, as well as some chromatic aberration, but I find it quite pleasing overall. It's got some character to it (not to everyone's taste, I'm sure) without being overly strong with the character. The 12K resolution is definitely overkill for it, I think, but even 4K is overkill for most viewing scenarios.

From most people who I've talked to who own that camera, the color of that sensor's design is why they are into the camera (along with non-windowed variety of resolution/frame rate combos), not because they are after higher resolution.

Not saying the resolution of these lenses shouldn't be questioned. I also know plenty of folks who tried these lenses and ended up feeling that they are simply too soft.
 
I certainly doubt that this lens can resolve 12k, but did you guys watch it in 8K on YouTube? I feel like it has a lot of detail, considering it was compressed for YouTube.
