Hey peeps, I have afriend who wants to use this still cam ball mount tripod

as a video tripod that he can pan and tilt with. Is it "fluid head" smooth? I mean do pans with these things look good? Thank You.

No way. A ball head is just not made for moving images. As soon as you release the grip, it's very loose. It's not like a fluid head at all.
