I WILL NOT consent to allowing an open licence on the material, unless its something that is authorised by this site. Seems wierd that this is in there. Mind you in the remote possibility I wrote something worthy and someone approached me to make it then I am sure something could be worked out (not talking about $$ here).
ncje said:The other things is I imagine only few people here have the book referred to here: 3 3 Beats (per Rabiger "Directing", PP 18-23)
So unless an explanation of this can be posted this I guess we can ignore it?
EDIT: Just a question. Why are you pushing this book so hard? Is there a commercial gain for you in this? And yes I like to ask questions.
In his interpretation, a beat is "a dramatic point".
I don't fully get Rabiger's explanation, but I think what he's getting at is:
a character (or other element such as the environment) saying or doing something that impacts the advancement of the plot.
Think of a beat as a "micro plot point".
Now everyone else can correct my misunderstanding.

Title: Moment of Danger
Age of POV Character: 60
POV Character Gender Is Female
Genre: Film Noir
Up to 60% of Screen Time in Dialog.
Running Time: 3 Minutes
Setting: EXT.
Crisis Timing: At End
3 Beats (per Rabiger "Directing", PP 18-23)
Crowd
Time of Day: Night
Conflict Between POV Character and Self
So you have a Film Noir, titled: "moment of danger", with a 60 year old female outside at night in a crowd. The scene runs ~3 minutes, with a traditonal dialog/action mix. There 3 dramatic (micro plot) points, and the crisis it at the end, resolving a conflict within herself.
I have a couple ideas I could offer, but that would kinda be cheating, no?

Perhap TheYankee (Jeremy) can give you some ideas, considering what he has done with the Photo contests.500lb Productions said:Haven't quite figured that out yet. We need some form of voting system, but don't have a ready solution just yet.
Worst case, I'll post them to a web url, and voting can be done by email, but I'm working on a better solution.
