DVXuser name change

This forum was named for the Panasonic DVX100 years ago.
I'm curious, if it were to be renamed after a specific camera today, what camera would that be in your opinion?

Not saying it should be. Just curious what would be the top contender if it was.

ALMOST-ANYTHING-BESIDES-A-SMARTPHONEuser

Seems like it would be so hard to choose just one. This month I've worked with RED, Canon, and Arri. Sony and Panasonic are in the mix for Feb. But that's as a producer and audio guy (not always at the same time) not a camop on bigger jobs. Geez, there are so many good choices these days. I'm still rolling my C300mk1 for some jobs. Thinking more seriously about what, if anything, I'll buy next. Luckily, I work with some great camera people, some of whom are owner/operators, and also live near a great rental house.

So it's super helpful for me to hear what users of various cameras think and how they work with various cameras. I find DVXuser much more useful to me now than way back in the day when it was mainly DVX100 talk (nothing against DVXuser or that camera back then; it was still a good place but not --as-- good)...and that why I sometimes hang out here after a very long layoff.

Geez, do you think we could narrow down everything to one camera?

I don't think it is possible to narrow down to a single camera. As soon as you do this, another camera comes along that is markedly better. Even a single family of product would be difficult. But I would suggest either the Panasonic GH line or maybe Canon DSLR line as the middle of the road cameras that kind of fit what the typical DVX user was doing for work/projects. BMD and RED have their own places on the web, so they are out of the running.

Nope. But even back in the day there were plenty of other cameras, the DVX was just the first affordable camera to shoot 24p. To be perfectly honest, I've never touched one. I was a Canon/Sony user back then. Though I do feel like maybe I missed out a little bit. It was an iconic camera of the time.

So really I'm asking, what is the readily accessible iconic camera of this era? Ten years ago it would have been the 5DmkII. But today?

Or we could just transmogrify the acronym to mean:

Don't Vacation with Xenomorphs

Doesn't Vaseline cure Xerochilia?

Digital Video Xpert user

Doesn't quite have the same ring, but I'd say the FS7/FS7II is probably the "IT" affordable camera nowadays. But I think what made and still makes DVX User work, is that DV in DVX makes you think 'digital video', which is what we're all(or most of us) shooting today, but at the same time it's still kind of ambiguous and doesn't necessarily produce a specific connotation with any certain camera or piece of equipment.

Building on this, what about a re-branding to DV-X? DV meaning digital video, and -X being the xfactor. HD, UHD, even SD

Regarding the above post, How about rebranding to DV-X without the dash, minamlism.

DVx. Digital Video and X is the variable. So what ever X variable (read: camera) you use, it applies.

Boom. DVXuser rebranded in our minds, no change in URL or graphic design needed.

Problem solved, crisis averted!

DVXUser is still quite ambiguous, at least today. I had never heard of the DVX camera when I joined so I don’t associate DVX to a specific camera, for example... on the other hand, if I hadn’t joined I’d still be happily unaware there was ever a DVX camera by Panasonic ;)
