DVXuser Maintenance Window Tonight

Hello, everyone. In about one hour I will be taking the board offline for a bit in order to have some server upgrades performed. Estimated downtime will be several hours, but we will get things back up and running as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience, and apologize for the inconvenience.

Take care.

I've edited the embed into your post here as well. You can press edit on your post and see how it is done. Without code, pressing the filmstrip icon and then pasting the full youtube url to the video into the popup box. With code, wrap VIDEO tags around a full url to a video on vimeo, yt, etc. Looks like you might be trying to use the old way from back in the day before vb had embedding by default.

Well, some of the upgrades were complete, but the primary hardware upgrade we had planned was unable to be completed during this maintenance window. We ran into some issues and due to the extended downtime decided to revert back until the remaining upgrades can be properly addressed.

Sadly, this means another night of scheduled downtime in a couple of days. I apologize about that. I realize it will be the 3rd maintenance window in as many weeks. But, the work being done to our infrastructure is laying the groundwork for a more robust and reliable experience in the long run. Unfortunately, things happen sometimes, and tonight (last night) was one of those times. So, we'll plan for an additional (and, hopefully, final, for a while) maintenance window... probably on Monday night.

Sorry we were down so long, and still weren't able to complete the work. We will get it wrapped up in a couple of days, though, and the server will be rocking and rolling like never before.

Thanks Jason. Yes, I was doing it the "old" way.

Appreciate your efforts as well and any others involved in the admin side of the server. Hope the upgrade process doesn't cause anyone undue stress.

Phew. I do apologize it has taken so long to get through this work.

We are back now. There will be some continuing work behind the scenes as we wrap things up, but nothing that should effect the site at this point.

Thanks again for your patience.

So, we are all good on this, and there shouldn't be any additional lengthy maintenance windows in our immediate future (barring some software upgrades by the end of the year... at least that is the goal).

Thanks again everyone for your patience. We'll be doing some tweaking to a new backup service we put in place this afternoon, so we now have two independent backup solutions for the site. but it shouldn't have any impact on the site while that tweaking continues. at most, there might be a little slow down here and there as things are tweaked.
