dvxuser/computer problem

I shoot Pirates.
a long time ago, like maybe 6 months or so, there was a problem with the dvxuser site, not everyone could open the page... my office cpu had no prob, but my home cpu couldnt...

anyway, someone found a way to fix it for some of us, by adjusting some setting somewhere...they had us do something where we enter the dvxuser ip address into some file or something on our computers....

now, the computer i did that on cant get on dvxuser, and i think its cause whatever thing was done to it is messing it up...

so, long story short, im trying to fix it...so does anyone remember when this happened, and if so, do you remember where that file/setting/whatever would be?

I remember it being an issue of domain propagating. Like it hadn't fully resolved or something with the ISP ?

Hmmm... well, this new site is V6. Is your computer trying to go to the old V3? Is that even an issue?

Yes, it sounds like the "hosts" file if you are on Windoze. You can locate it somewhere under the Windows installed directory. Try:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

Edit the file and create a line for dvxuser.com that specifies the ip address. It looks like the IP is "205.234.145.242". Jarred or someone might verify that IP. So you would add the line:

205.234.145.242 dvxuser.com

Or, if you already have a line for dvxuser.com then verify the IP address. With the server changes the IP probably changed.

What this file does is map text names, for example "dvxuser.com", to IP addresses. This can occur automatically for you if your system support dynamic IP lookup. But if that is blocked then you need to do it manually.

You might also try removing the line if you already had one to see if you can access the website without it.
