I know everone's individual milage may vary, but does anyone have a "typical" head life for the "B" if one uses MO exclusively? Like in hours of use or footage shot?

Eventhough quite a few people say you should use a VTR to capture with, I've also heard that unless you're shooting 1000 hours or more a year you don't have to worry.

Thanks,

Ken

I really wouldn't worry about it. 1000-3000 hours or beyond, depending on how it's treated. If you can avoid using it as a deck, that's probably best, though.

No, if your heads are shot, you can still record to the FireStore.

Horse,

I hadn't thought about it before, but thinking it through now, I can see the that the digital processing must obviously occur between the CCD chips and the heads with the output available for fire wire transfer.

Would this also be the case for the other output types like s video, etc?

Ken

I'm not 100% sure, but I think S-video might not give you the quality of firewire. I'd stick to the firewire.

100 percent true svideo is horible compared to firwire i tryed it numerous amounts of time. Stick to firwire.
