DVX100B Recieved Today!

After months (actually years, but the past few months have been a bit more intense) of my parents not being able to make up their mind and of me saving money forever I recieved my DVX100B today. (my parents loaned me $1k so I had to wait for them). This is my first video camera that is actually prosumer or let alone a professional video camera. My old camera was about the size of my fist, I must say that the DVX100B is quite a step up. :)
One question though, I looked through the manual but was unable to find whether it is ok to interupt a charge? Do you have to wait until the battery is fully charged or could I stop the charging and use it on the AC adapter if I needed to? Because I started charging it but I realized it will take 5 hours for this huge battery!

Coolness!

Yeah it sort of blows you away when you see it in the flesh hu!?

I think they suggest you don't interrupt the first charge, but I did - bugger that!

Eh, I just waited it out, (or rather I had a ton of homework so I had very little time to play around with it) and let it fully charge. Wow, 5.5 hours of battery, I can't wait to go shoot with this thing. Anyways, you mentioned that I shouldn't interupt it on the first charge, what about for future charges? I sense the need for another battery...

I think it's fine to interrupt, but I'm no battery engineer. Thing is, if you need it, grab it. If not, charge it.

LiIon batteries supposedly have no memory, so it shouldn't be a problem. (Batteries with "memory" might start to think their full charge is only the partial one).

But you'll need another/more batteries, anyway. Always nice to be able to go that little bit more when you need to. :)
