DVX100B permanent flip solution (hack)

Can't use magnets to flip the lcd. Only solution seems to open the dvx and drill a hole in the cover and use a soft material to keep the switch in position.

Most people had problems and nobody seems to recommend due to loosing the switch or damaging internal wires.

I was wondering if you can super glue the switch? This way i won't make a hole in the cover, nothing will be poking the internal wires, but it's permanent! In my case not a problem.

What do you think, will it be risk free?

if you know what you are doing that wouldn't be a problem.

first take a look at how the filp functions. you will get an idea of how it works. it's really simple. there is just a tiny knob/switch and when the LCD flips more then 180 degrees, a peace of plastic that has a bump will hit that Knob/switch to tell it that the LCD turned 180 degrees so the image flips. so you just have to have something hitting that knob/switch if you want it to flip.

I wouldn't recomend to glue it....
just put someting that keeps the knob/switch hitting it and keeping it's position. then you can close the cover and the image will be fliped as long as you keep the thing in.
But don't flip the LCD more then 180 degrees because the bump will hit the thing and get jamed

IMHO this seems like quite a gamble. You are risking your 3200.00 camera for a function that may void its warranty and hinder its resell value.

You can buy a flip module for only 600.00 or if your budget is very limited you can buy an small LCD monitor from Ikan for 99.00 and mount it upside down.

I think there are too many viable 3rd party flip options to go super glue your camera.
