After months and months of looking at the market it sure isn't getting any easier to pick a camera. What's good? What's bad? What I really need? The choice for now has been put off because of a major buy in Nikon equipment.

My feeling at the moment is to wait on High-def. It's going to be awesome in a few years when the formats , HD-players and other things all fall into place. And the price comes down!

I want a camera to make a film. Thats it. It seems the DVX100 fits the bill closer than about anything. But since I can't buy right now maybe in a few months I can get the DVX100b. I do like that black!

Or you could get a nice used 100A when everyone clears 'em out for the next model. I've been agonizing over these choices forever now, but the end is near. I just bought a DVX100A with 11 hours on the meter from someone here. It saved me enough to justify some goodies to go with it, and I don't need to wait for a rebate check. Like you, I've been dreaming of the HVX, but reality set in, and I realized that the cost to upgrade everything just wasn't in the cards. Good luck to whatever you decide. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three models.

The high def would mean a new computer and another $2,000. My 3 year old iMac can handle standard def. A used camera has crossed my mind. I guess as my saving grow I might look at. 11 hours isn't many hours. Enjoy the DVX

Stop agonizing and go out and shoot some stuff. You can have the best camera in the world, but it does no good if you don't use it. More action and less browsing the web. That's the only way you're going to get better.
