CAMCORDERS: DVX100B - "Auto Off Loading Lock"

nonlapses

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and I really wanted to try and ask for help here since I've tried looking everywhere for answers.

So basically, the DVX100B I have has the "Auto Off - Loading Lock" blue screen of death on it. I tried searching everywhere and I just can't find an answer to it. I tried posting on Reddit but no one has replied yet.

I hope someone can help me out here especially if someone has encountered this issue before.

Thank you everyone!

Ah, I forgot to reply to this (sorry, so rare).

It might have something to do with a tape damaging the inside/deck, etc.

Some more threads below with a similar question, which may provide some clue.

If you're open to it, I would actually try putting in a tape to see if it could get anything going properly again...recording, rewinding/fast-forwarding, ejecting a few times...anything if you haven't tried any of that.

Hello!

So I did find out that there is a tape in the tape deck. Unfortunately, when I try to to eject it, it just make a whirring sound and the tape deck rises but the tape deck door does not open. The camera just shows the blue screen and turns off. I can't do any other functions while the blue screen is on.

I have a feeling that if I get to remove this tape everything will work out fine. The tape inside is also a video head cleaner.

Do you have any idea how to remove the stuck tape inside? I already pressed the reset button and it didn't work.

I bought a 3AAA series to supply 4.5v volts to the emergency eject posts and it'll arrive soon. I'm hoping it'll work.

For now, I would keep trying to turn the camera on and off and pressing/holding the eject button to get the hardware to eventually push it out, but that might not happen if it's all too damaged (a stuck tape over time could damage the cam and you'd have to service it if nothing else works).

Those cleaning tapes are supposedly pretty rough on the camera heads, I don't know though if true/how true.

Thank you!

I will probably wait for the series connector since I don't want to risk damaging anything further.

Sadly, the previous owner used a cleaning tape, and I really think that's what caused it to jam.

I'll update soon! Thanks again
