Hello,
I'm doing research before buying my gear and I've got a few questions. Tried to find answers to these and couldn't (or the answers weren't complete enough):
1. I'll be using a Sennheiser MHK-416. Is there is a noticable sound difference between recording through the XLRs on the DVX100A as compared to recording onto a Tascam DA-P1? While the DAT is somewhat higher quality, is this difference audible? Is the potential for audio dropouts significantly higher with the Mini-DV tape when compared to DAT?
2. If I use the DA-P1, can it be used as a mixer?
3. (Non DVX100 related but I thought I'd ask it): I've got a Pinncle Systems Cinewave NLE w/ pro Analog/Digital BOBs (SDI, unbalanced RCA, balanced XLR inputs). If I use the DA-P1, how can I capture the highest quality audio? Can I feed its S/PDIF output into one of these inputs (using some sort of lossless adapter) for capture?
4. Greg Mote at Cinetactics informed me that (with the help of velcro) I can use the oversize French Flag on the Panny anamorphic adaptor. He also said that I can use yet more velcro to attach the 4x4 double filter holders to the panny adaptor. Anyone have experience using both the oversize French Flag & filter holders together? How's it working for you?
Thanks,
Todd
