DVX100a problem

hey guys- hopefully someone can help me here. i was capturing a bunch of tapes- about 5. i captured from my dvx (no deck yet, i know not too smart.) anyway- so im doing it, and i move on to the 5th tape, and it wont play right through the dvx. it doesnt get the timecode. but when i rewind- the tape length (near the battery) goes down, but the timecode doesnt change. i think it happened before and i just let it go until the morning and it was fine. is it some kind of over heating thing? hopefully its nothing major. i'm hoping tomorrow morning it will be fine. any ideas? thx guys

I know that sometimes when I put a tape that has footage on it in, that no footage or timecode shows up. Doesn't happen frequently, but I don't think its too serious.
 
yeah- i slept 2 1/2 hours and it was still happening. i wonder if the heads need cleaning? i havent used it ThAT extensively though. hopefully it will fix itself. i think i'll call evs today to see if they have any ideas.
 
Usually I run the head cleaner tape for 5-10 seconds and after that everything is back to normal. Try it.
 
****. i'll have to buy one- i dont think i have one. just a regular one from best buy ok pk? thanks a lot guys, appreciate your responses.
