dvx100a 24p -> vegas -> DVD help!

ok so i've finally purchased Vegas 6.0 from the academic superstore website, and i'm intent on using it as my editor of choice. however, i'm still relatively new to the game, and have a question on my overall workflow.

basically, i have all of my tapes, shot on my dvx100a in 24p (f5). now, i've captured all of them in Vegas 6.0 and saved them accordingly. now, i'm working on a documentary which is to ultimately be placed on a DVD and viewed on (most likely) televisions obviously via dvd players. now, i'm curious as to how i should approach the rest of my workflow (following capturing all of my footage).

1. when i start my new project, should i be using the setting NTSC DV 24P (720x480, 23.976) with the framerate "23.976 (IVTC FILM)" selected? or should i be using something else?

2. should i have "allow pulldown removal when opening 24p DV" enabled in my general preferences?

overall, i'm generally confused about the whole thing. should i drop my footage into a 23.976 timeline? then once i'm done with my entire editing process, then what? how should i export my video once i want to get it onto DVD? should it be uncompressed? should it be compressed in some way? should my timeline even be 23.976 in the first place with the pulldown removal on?

bascially i'm looking for a overall and easy to understand workflow for getting this footage edited, and viewable on DVD. i'm sorry, but i simply can't find any comprehensive resources for this using Vegas online!

thanks guys

well, another quick question - when i capture video and then view the actual AVI files in say, windows media player, i notice interlacing pretty noticeably at times. is this because i captured the footage incorrectly, or because the media player isn't rendering the uncompressed footage in the appropriate "24p" manner?

All video is captured at 60i. When 24p footage is dropped into a 24p timeline, Vegas will remove the pulldown and will display progressive frames.

To get to DVD, render as MPEG-2 using the DVD Architect 24p templates -- widescreen or normal, whichever may be appropriate. Then render the sound as AC-3.

WMP plays the clip with the pull down = you have some interlace frames in there where pull down was added ... your monitor is progressive ... = interlace artifacts.

re: wmp rendering uncpmressed = there is no uncompressed footage - your clips are compressed 5-1 ...
