Quick question about vegas and widescreen with the DVX100b...
So I've been reading forums online here and most people say to film in squeeze and then capture...I recently just filmed a short in 24p letterbox setting and captured to vegas...but when I captured I had my capture settings to 29.97 fps capture rate and then set my capture screen to widescreen is that a problem?...and then when I went to edit my video...My project settings were set to the 24 widescreen settings...but when I put my clips in the timeline the picture was very small..so I right clicked went into the properties...and changed the pixel rate from .90...to 1.2...Is this a good thing to do?? because it just makes the picture fit the preview window better..and it looks like its works..but I tried the squeeze mode and wasnt really happy with the tall look it gave the picture...anyways...just wondering what you think thanks

As for capturing 24p:

As for pixel aspet ratio . . .

If you're shooting letterbox (not squeeze) and want to work in a widescreen project, then go into pan/crop and select the 16:9 preset from the drop-down at the top. Do NOT change the pixel aspect ratio.

As for shooting squeeze, it should automatically have a 1.21 PAR once you've captured, and should stretch out to normal proportions on a widescreen timeline.

Thanks....so is the capturing with the widescreen in the capture window ok?...I watched your tutorial several times...(thanks by the way)...I capture 24p widescreen in vegas with 29.97 settings and a widescreen window...is that ok?....and as for NOT right clicking and switching the pixel ratio....I did the pan crop thing..but dont see the black lines?...how do I get those?..thanks

one more question to add to the above list...when doign the crop thing does that remove some part of the picture?
