Now I don't want to start a huge argument, also im unsure if this is the right forum to post this is. Anyways my question is, what is the difference. I understand that the HVX200 is HD and the DVX is not, and the HVX200 records on P2 cards. But with the right lighting, and CC can't someone achieve the HD look with the DVX?

Sorry uber noob question. But I am just starting out.

Hell yeah you can make HD out of your DVX100a. All you have to do is..aguashg asau!! oh god!! my face!!la alhs !

Its all about resolution and you cant get HD resolution from a dvx, no matter what you do.
Im sure there's more to it, but that's where Barry has to come in!!

HD means, by its very nature, "high definition". The HVX records four times as many pixels per frame as the DVX does. That's something that can't be faked, it has to do with the chips and the lens etc.

Now, for standard-def, for DVD release etc., the DVX is perfectly suitable for that and in fact can produce some excellent-looking DVDs. But for high-definition, no, it can't. Not like the HVX can.

The HVX can also shoot standard definition. Are you looking to buy one or the other, or are you just curious about the differences and just asking? If you want to know which one to buy, can you indicate what you're intending to use it for?
