My first video equipment purchase arrived today, 30 minutes before leaving for work. This is what I got.
-Camera
-Varizoom shoulder holder
-503 Head and 3426(or something like that) legs
-ME66/K6
-12.5 boom pole
I have no lighting aside from available. This is and my wifes hi8(which is now mine AND hers
is ALL I've got!
I got home from work at 2:45am and gave my wife a face massage. I couldnt believe she would request such a thing at such an in-opportune time, but I'm glad she did. I love her! I hooked everything up together in the living room, which has awsome colors and crap on the shelves and walls. Firing it up and moving it through the scene files while watching the changes was awsome! When I got to 24PA, I could see why you've gotta have light.
When I did my first white balance, I was AMAZED at the difference it makes to have control over such things. I loved playing with the iris, focus, zoom and all of the menu settings. This camera will definately do.
The tripod and head were great! I tightend up all the resistence knobs and extended the pan and tilt arm and it moved like a 50 pound weight! Very solid basic capabilities.
The Varizoom shoulder holder/excellent to have included in my initial setup package. It will be essential to my shooting needs very often.
This is all I've been able to check out, but no work till 5:45pm, then off for two days! I think I have made very good choices in maximizing bang for buck with my purchasing power. I am sure I can get more than plenty done with what I have now, until I can pay down the cards and get some light! I will now go see whatever movie the dream projectionist has programmed for tonight.(or this morning, it's 6am!)
