DVX100 in Winter conditons. Quality, Durability.

Hey everyone,
I was wondering how the DVX100 does in Winter conditions. Like how the footage comes out. If anyone has filmed skiing or boarding in 24p, how does it look? I'm a college student who has no money and wants to make ski films, makes mom so proud. Anyway hopefully soon I can get a DVX100 and start getting serious. Any feedback would be great thanks!!

I shot a film in the winter (up here in Canada :P) and it's not terrible, but its not great either...

I shot for seven hours in the cold, with the camera seemingly holding up...only to find that everything I shot after the first hour was ridden with dropouts and completely useless...

From then on, I'd shoot in half hour spurts, and then warm the camera up for fifteen minutes before starting again, and when I did this, everything turned out fine...

Treat it like a baby and it'll be awesome, but beware shooting for long periods of time.

Snow looks better in 24P :P ;)

Don't know abt winter, but shot recently in a giant chilled room ( -22 degrees ) with my DVX. Brought it out later to normal tropical temp ( 35 degree ). Moisture set-in, camera was in operable for nearly 2 hours. Condensed lens, lcd and eye piece.
