DVX100 going handheld?

Hey,

I'll be shooting a feature next July and I have a lot of tracking shots. I was thinking of going handheld on my DVX100 instead of using a Glidecam.

The camcorder seems to be easy to maneuver this way. Any thoughts?

If you are doing a lot of tracking, I highly recommend using a glidecam or steadycam instead of handheld. Although the DVX might seem "light" you will get tired quickly. Footage shot with a GC/SC looks a lot better (smoother) compared to handheld IMHO.

Well it depends on your artistic choice. But I wouldnt go entirely handheld. Something like a shoulder mount with pistol grips would be my bare minimum.
