DVX ZOMBIE FILM - LOOKS COOL and SHOT on DVX100

freaky freaky...i wanna see it when it comes out...

I paused it on those zombie parts...whoever did the make up is madd good...that one part of the flesh being torn off the persons arm was crizzaazzzyy...makes me jus wanna go eat a hamburger or suttin...

Actually, the trailer was REALLY bad. Started out promising (some good shots), but then the TV static cuts came in and it didn't fit with the barn shots and the setting. The heartbeat stuff at the end was painfully cliche and most of the shots (at the end) were so dark (poorly lit) that it looked cheap. Not to mention (although I am mentioning it) the unbelievably bad logo. Come on!!! Worst use of CG and Trapcode's Shine, EVER! Make-up alone can't carry a film.

Overall it was ok. Which is enough reason not to tell them about the Zombie DVXfest. Shhhhhhhhh...... Be very, very, very quiet. We're hunting zombies.

Hi Everyone,

I'm the director of Locked Away. I'm very touched by all your enthusiasm for the movie.

We truly did have an ace make-up team. I'm looking forward to releasing the full trailer, which will reveal more of the personal stories in the film - something I feel will set us apart from most low budget independent horror films. But I'll let all you be the judge of that once it's up (but that won't be for a few months, I plan to finish editing the movie first)

To address PK Gillock's concerns, we are aware of the darkness in the web version of the trailer. We're working on improving that, as it's something that occurred during compression. Also I fully agree with you on the CG Logo. That was just a temporary logo we had made up because we needed to get the trailer online. We're working on replacing that with a non-CG version. As a sort of side note, there is no CG in the movie itself.

I welcome both praise and criticism, and I've appreciated the help I received in here in the past during production.

Welcome SayHello. It's interesting that only the last few shots look dark but the shots in the beginning look great. I'm typically more brutal on trailers because trailers are generally the best clips of the film. It's like a first date. Everyone is on their best bahavior. So if the trailer has problems then it doesn't reflect well on the final piece. Good to know that CG logo is history. It's obvious you put a lot of work into this film so it deserves a nicer logo. It doesn't need to be anything flashy. Keep it simple and creepy.

Your stuff looked good. Oh, and just ignore all these Zombie DVXfest banners. It's nothing you'd be interested in. :)

Thanks PK Gillock.

I appreciate your honesty, and it's good to hear you have an open mind yet with the movie. One of my struggles with the teaser trailer was I didn't want to use up all the best moments from the movie, but wanted to keep it interesting enough to draw attention. I saved most of the good stuff for the full trailer, (and hope to actually save a lot for the film itself. I hate it when all the best moments are in the trailer - the movie always ends up being a disapointment)

And don't worry, your safe from me entering the Zombie DVXfest. With a full time job and a full length movie on the side (not to mention other video side projects), I don't have much free time. Otherwise I most definitly would enter. I do look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with though.
