Dvx zebra patterns

Hello. I just got my dvx and I was wondering how do I set up the zebra pattern settings to get the best image? What settings are the best? 80,85,90 etc. Is there any info on how to utilize these things. My last camera did not have multiple zebras so I'm a little confused. thanks, mark.

Re: Dvx zebra patterns

Well, one example of how you could use it is to set one at 90 and another at 75ish. The 90 ire zebra could be used as a "warning" flag, showing you areas in your picture that are close to over exposure. If you have items of detail in those areas...for example a finely knit white tablecloth, that detail is likely to be lost in your picture so you could close down your iris to darken the picture and get a little more latitude.

A zebra set to somewhere around 75 ire would be close to correct exposure for average caucasian skin, thus you'd know if you picture was properly exposed if you get zebra lines on the faces of white people when you're setting up your shot.

It's just a tool to show you where certain luminence benchmarks lie in your picture.
