DVX TIMELAPSE Question.

Hey guys, got a guestion for you...

I need to get a timelapse shot of the city going from light to dark. Several hours. Maybe 3-4 hours. Eventually I want to rip it down to a super short 15-20 seconds.

Besides questions about how many frames per second you would suggest., I'm wondering what I should do about the iris?

Obviously I'll need to roll it open, but does any one have any tips on how to do this smoothly so it doesn't pop my footage from dark to light to dark.....

Thanks guys.

Hansk,

Thanks dude. That would have been handy if I got it in time. I ended up on set figuring it out as the sun was setting.....never a cool move.

But I got lucky-ish. I shot 1s/m for 4 hours with the ND on. I auto iris-ed and then shot an extra plate once it was night and crossfadded the two nights to get a smooth transition and good look.

We're pleased with the results.
