DVX squeeze mode+24pa. FCP Help!

Okay I have final cut pro 5.0.4 and a DVX100b. What I am having problems with is getting the correct sequence settings. I shot my footage in squeeze mode 24pa, which requires the special 2:3:3:2 pull down. Now, I have shot 4:3 footage before in 24pa and that works fine, but in FCP I cannot find an option that allows me, during capture to select 16:9 anamorphic and 24p advanced pull down. Its one or the other. Is there an option that gives me 16:9 anamorphic and advanced pull down removal on capture?

You will need to create a new Easy Setup. To do this go to Final Cut Pro>Audio/Video Settings.

Open up Sequence Presets, Duplicate DV NTSC 23.98, Click Anamorphic 16:9, and change to the name anything you want. Example: DV NTSC 23.98 Anamorphic.

Now go to Capture Presets, Duplicate DV NTSC Advanced (2:3:3:2) Pulldown Removal, Click Anamorphic 16:9 and again change the name. Example: DV NTSC Advanced (2:3:3:2) Pulldown Removal Anamorphic.

Almost done! Go to the Summary Tab and select the new presets you just made.

Click "Create Easy Setup," title it, and save. You might need to quit and reload FCP. Finally, open Easy Setup and select the new Anamorphic 24pA preset you made.

Maybe people could SEARCH first... isn't THAT a stickie? What makes you think just because it's a stickie people will read THAT?

Hell -- they don't even read the documentation that came with the $1200 they spent on software.

Zander, I just want to point out a few things

1. Captain Mench is one of the few people that regularly come to this FCP forum and post responses to questions over and over again. In addition providing tutorials for many FCP tasks. All this just to help others. What an ass!

2/ Literally 5 posts down you will see almost the exact same thread title, asking the exact same thing. Actually its about the 1 millionth time I have seen the question asked.

THe point is search first, should be everyones mantra.

But as an aside, I realize you went to a lot of effort in this thread to post a great reply.

You're right he does help people out alot and provide tutorials , But that does not give him the right to call people names and insult them as he has done her in the past.
