**** guys,
How did you do it, I should be ordering my DVX next week, and I'm already excited!!! I'll be up-grading from a canon 65mc. I've been getting job offers, but have been embarrassed to honestly say I can shoot quality footage with the little canon when the people I am competing with are shootin' with XL and GL series cams. HAHAHA kinda funny they are even interested in my work....I can't wait to get home to order the camera!!!! WOOOHOOO.
Pointless thread but I'm really excited to get one!

Hell yeah dude I am so pumped to be getting one...finally I can got to interviews and be like i have all my own gear I don't have to borrow/beg/steal to do the shoot!

PS: you know what is really lame is that UMD won't rent out their equipment to me b/c I'm not a motion graphics major, so there sits all this killer gear that I can't use even though I pay through the ass for tuition.
 
Well....I just have no life. I spend all day at work on dvxuser.com reading and posting. I'll actually *get* a dvx or hdx very soon....I'm just letting things get sorted out till then. But when I do have my camera I want to have a very good understanding of how to use it. ~reservoir~

You are wise in the ways of DVXuser.com. I put in a good six months, spending every day here. I read eveything I could. THEN I got the camera knowing that there would be no surprises (wondering what the "clunk" is, what master ped does, etc.)
 
I'm not sure but I think it might be because of something he said bad about Jesus. That or liking Freddy Got Fingered

EDIT: Just found this in the Passion thread from Barry_S "I temporarily suspended reservoir before I even saw his post here and this only confirms my decision." There's your answer BLUE.
 
Very strange. It wasn't even about a specific post. I asked reservoir to tone done his posts a bit, but he wasn't cool with that and he's ended up going sort of ballistic. Last time I looked, he was doing a very credible Danny Boyle imitation. *sigh* As a wise man once said--when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. And well, reservoir hasn't stopped digging yet. :laugh:
 
We got it sorted out in a civil manner. I guess you could say I found the bottom of the hole. Barry. I did leave you a message regarding all this as well. You'll have to explain to me sometime the whole Danny Boyle thing? Who / what is that exactly? I know he's a director but are you referring to a situation that happened here? Thanx. ~reservoir~
 
Welcome back reservoir, Danny Boyle was some 14 year old kid who must have been a right prick because everyone hated him (I'd never seen any bad posts he'd made (he seemed Ok to me, but from what I hear from all the other users, I'm guessing he was a total arsehole). Somebody fill me (and reservoir) in on this, I want to know too. Maybe, if they still exist, point us to some classic Danny threads.
 
Do a user search for Danny_Boyle. You can quickly get a sense of of what happened from a few of his posts.
 
Haha, I was complaining (half-seriously) about my thread being hijacked. Now I'm taking part in a hijacking. Feels good, feels real good :)
 
From what I can gather based on the *Danny_Boyle* search....this person was just a real class act. I guess he got really bored and was always starting new threads about Bullcrap....like "So..how's the weather" or "Guess what I ate today" and "How does this thing work?" Just asking stupid rhetorical questions, never using the search feature, and just genuinely annonying everyone at will. It also appears that he was a pathological liar. One day he had an XL1 then a PD150. I'm not sure if he ever did *upgrade* to the DVX. I didn't have time to read all 4 pages of his multiple threads. Then I saw he was using other people's work as his own. So I guess he never did make any real movies himself? So anyway, Thanx for the clarification on this Isaac. ~reservoir~
 
I almost spent an hour looking at his threads. I can't believe I said he seemed Ok. I didn't know, I DIDN'T KNOW!! :) I'm glad he's gone too.

Are there been any other Danny Boyle type cases in the DVXuser history vault?

Nice reference. By the way, Did you like *The Village*? I did. I'm not a big fan of Shamalyan, but I liked The Village alot. However I am partial to period pieces....or at least movies that "appear" to be period pieces....which The Village turned out not to be......*spoiler, spoiler*.....~reservoir~
