DVX Shoulder mount

Very nice. Curious about the camera mounted beyond the grips... seems like it could bounce with movement by the operator.

Seems Like The Front Handles Would Be Better If They Were Farther Forward And Picked Up The Camera Weight Better, Is It Comfortable For You To Hold ?

There is a little bounce so im going to try moving the camera further back over the handles and adjusting the placement of the weight. It was hard to figure out placement until i finished it and mounted the camera. Im going to fool with it later. But yes it is a lot easier to hold especially for extended time than just holding the cam.

There is a little bounce...
That was my first concern, the first time I saw that design. You have to use pretty thick metal to not get a little bounce out of that shape.

I'm planning on making one for myself, but I'm going to try bending the part that actually touches the camera back (instead of forward), and bolt it onto itself just in front of the padding. Hopefully that will give it enough rigidity.

By the way, what did you use for the hand grips? I've seen them used a few times.

thats what im actually going to do eliminate the bounce. Im going to bend that front piece backwards toward the rear.

yea to be honest with you i didnt realize how cheap the spider brace was. Also this isnt really to hard of work i actually enjoy doing this kind of stuff and for $30 why not, saves me $55

JMC, You can get those grips from Wal-Mart - used the same ones on my version. They are branded "Bell".

Wow, i didn't expect this...

Wow, i didn't expect this...

When i made this thing I didn't really expect people to take the idea and run with it... :-) so I've noticed that people have been commenting on the "bounce" that you get. yeah... that was the flaw of the first design that i made. but if you notice the pic for the new design it had the camera closer to the body and "upgraded" hardware. so if you make one take the old pics and compare them to the new pics and make your own judgment calls :-) and yes a spider rig is a little bit more expensive and it is quality work. but what fun is that? DIY is awesome. save some money and work towards what you love. :-)
